George is totally right. Safety is the key. I'm a personal injury lawyer that has represented three motorcycle riders. One died, he didn't have a helmet. Two sustained broken arms, one had a broken leg in addition to the arm. They all had their skin because they were wearing jackets.
I know its really hot, especially in the 90 degree heat, but if you ever saw the results of a body hitting asphalt at 40 MPH you would wear one too. Skin grafts are not good.
